Responsible for matching volunteer skills/gifts to beneficiary needs through practical activities that are high impact for beneficiaries and low cost for the ministry.

Position Purpose

The Ministry Connector serves as a bridge between the gifts, skills, experience, and passions of volunteers and the practical needs of the individuals, families, and communities served by Pan de Vida.

The primary responsibility of this role is to identify opportunities where volunteers can use what they already know and do well to create meaningful, practical, and sustainable impact. The Ministry Connector works closely with Pan de Vida staff to understand beneficiary needs and then designs or coordinates volunteer-led activities that add value to existing programs without creating unnecessary costs, complexity, or dependency.

The goal is to move beyond simply finding activities for volunteers and instead intentionally connect the right people, with the right gifts, to the right needs.

Core Responsibilities

Identify Beneficiary and Program Needs

Work with Pan de Vida program leaders and field staff to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities where volunteer knowledge, experience, or practical skills could strengthen the ministry's work.

This includes opportunities within:

• Hunger Relief and Family Support
• Life Farms and agricultural development
• Micro-entrepreneurship and small business development
• Education and school support
• Health and wellness initiatives
• Children's and VBS programs
• Spiritual development and evangelism
• Community development
• Church and ministry leadership training
• Facility and practical improvement projects

The Ministry Connector should maintain an ongoing understanding of what communities actually need rather than developing activities simply because volunteers are available.

Discover and Assess Volunteer Gifts

Learn about the professional skills, practical abilities, spiritual gifts, hobbies, life experiences, and interests of individual volunteers and visiting teams.

Examples might include volunteers with experience in:

• Agriculture or gardening
• Construction and home repair
• Medicine, nursing, nutrition, or physical wellness
• Teaching and education
• Business, accounting, marketing, or entrepreneurship
• Technology and communications
• Sports and recreation
• Art, music, and creative activities
• Children's ministry
• Evangelism and discipleship
• Leadership development
• Counseling or family support
• Skilled trades

The Ministry Connector then evaluates how those abilities can appropriately support Pan de Vida's existing programs and priorities.

Create High-Impact, Low-Cost Ministry Opportunities

Develop practical activities that maximize the volunteer's contribution while minimizing unnecessary financial investment by Pan de Vida.

Examples could include:

• A business owner mentoring participants in Pan de Vida's micro-entrepreneurship program.
• A marketing professional helping entrepreneurs improve branding, packaging, or customer communication.
• An agricultural specialist training Life Farms participants in soil health, animal care, composting, or crop production.
• A healthcare professional providing educational workshops or supporting community health activities.
• A teacher leading an educational activity for children or training local volunteers.
• A tradesperson teaching practical construction or maintenance skills while completing a needed community project.
• A soccer player or coach organizing a sports clinic connected with youth outreach.
• A musician or artist leading creative activities for children and families.
• A pastor or ministry leader equipping local church leaders in evangelism, discipleship, or leadership.

Whenever possible, activities should use existing resources, strengthen existing programs, transfer knowledge, and build local capacity.
